In Australia, ShopBack has become a household name, especially among tech-savvy consumers who value instant digital rewards. As the platform evolved into retail media and receipt-based campaigns, operational needs shifted. Processing thousands of receipts daily required more than basic OCR, it required intelligent automation that could scale without slowing down.
The Challenge
ShopBack’s Australian launch marked its first large-scale rollout of a receipt rewards model. Users could earn cashback for any valid receipt, plus bonus rewards for specific products or brands.
To make this work, three things had to happen simultaneously:
